The BURG Classic is an annual, volunteer-run local community-based recreation hockey tournament and social event that creates an entertaining weekend in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. The purpose and goal of the event is to raise funds to be donated within the community to individuals and causes who require it most. Each year, 100% of proceeds are returned to the local community. 

 

The event committee makes difficult decisions on an annual basis when selecting recipients for support, and due to high demand and the number of worthy causes submitted each year, not all applicants will be selected. Applications are reviewed by the committee and are selected based on need, referral, and references.

The BURG Classic accepts and reviews donations year-round; we will follow-up with applicants within 30 days of applying indicating whether The BURG can fulfill the request.
